I have now updated my blog, formerly on Stanford servers, to work with WordPress. I will be porting all of my old entries over in the next week or so.

Hey Pal,

Nice site. Some interesting and informative comments man I know, I am creeping,lol. Hopefully I can produce something like this myself. Who did you get your templates from?

Hopefully some of you folks might possibly help me out a little here. I am hoping to find someone who I was reliably told was a member here. They used to use the name ‘fattaff’.

You see I am hoping to start my own site on beauty related products for things such as: nonlaser tooth whitener (hence the where did you get your templates from,lol) but am having realllll difficulty getting hold of dropshippers for these goods. I had been in touch with this guy but my PC got stolen and unfortunately had all my contact details on it (I know, I know, should have backed it up )

So if you people have heard or seen anything of him could you let me know please? Failing that maybe one of you people knows someone?

Plus, which hosting do you use as I keep hearing negative tales about the host I am considering of placing my site with. And any other useful tips you could give re starting up my website would be most helpful and much appreciated.

I hope that someone has useful info on this

Dave,

Thanks for your interest in the behind the scenes of my blog. I started out with the Word Press “pixel” theme and then created my own style sheet and background images. I’m not a huge fan of the typography within “pixel” but it was a good starting point for a dark background and light text blog.

I’m new to word press. My old blog was hosted at Stanford and I used Movable Type which is great for a coder like me. Wordpress is even better though, I have to say, because of all the widgets, themes, and security upgrades.

I just started this blog up again so I’m not sure if there was a “fattaff” on my old blog or not. This is a digital media production blog, and thus, not about dental products. Sorry can’t help you there.

I use Media Temple and they have been really great with customer service and rock solid servers. They are a bit expensive, but worth it if you have the cash. If you want a free Wordpress blog, I’d go over to Wordpress.org and get a free account. They do limit you on a free account with plugins and widgets but if you don’t want anything too fancy that’s the way to go.
